Registration deadline: Thursday, 20 June 2019

Camp cost : accomm deposit for U14/16: $250 (5 nights x $50)

  • Option 2: $650 U14 event fee NO team 6 days (includes 6 days lift, and coach expenses)

  • Option 3: $550 U12 event fee NO team 5 days (includes 5 days lift, and coach expenses)

Dryland gear, equipment: running shoes, shorts, T-shirt, swim suit

On-snow equipment:

U14, U16: SL and GS skis, Helmets, race suit, poles, Slalom guards, chin guard, back protectors, ponchos, Tuning kits, lunch box, water bottle, sun screen, running shoes, dryland gear, open mind, and good spirit.


U12: Slalom skis only, helmets, race suit if desired, poles, poncho, second pair of gloves, lunch, water bottle, sun screen, running shoes, dryland gear, open mind and can-do spirit


Off Season Training Purpose & Objectives:
Our governing bodies (Alpine Canada, BC Alpine Ski Association and the Canadian Ski Coaches Federation) conduct research and publish data and guidelines for optimal skill development of fast, athletic skiers. The study indicates that our club is about 15% short of the number of training sessions provided for optimal ski skill development. In agreement with that, we feel that more repetition on the very fundamentals of skiing stance and balance is required to fully take advantage of winter skiing and competition.

Summer Camp Description:
Summer ski camps have historically proven to be the perfect environment for technical work on snow. The Blackcomb Glacier is very well suited for technical work because of its gentle grade and even terrain. On the other hand, this environment is very limited in the sense that distractions are minimal. Those two factors make it easier to create a captive audience and a high repetition of technical and course drills. Because the camp is 5 to 6 consecutive days, it provides for a great progressive learning situation.
Early summer camp afternoons are reserved for rest, nutrition and hydration. When the skiers have cooled off, we head outside for late afternoon fitness and teambuilding activities organized by the coaching staff.
All campers will take part in the afternoon fitness activities, regardless of where they are staying.

-The summer sun is intense so please remember to pack good sunscreen.
-Plan for layering clothes when on the hill and no skin should be exposed at anytime. Also bring a poncho! Last year we even had a snowy day - this means also prepare for a cold day.
-It takes about 45mins to upload/download; it is preferred the kids have their boots on at upload rather than shoes.
-Mandatory eye protection;
goggles or UV protected sunglasses
-Afternoon dryland sessions will include aerobic, agility and recovery activities. We plan on having these sessions in the late afternoon, but exact time and location will be announced daily.
