Coaching Development

Grouse Mtn Tyee Ski Club is committed to employing the best coaches available to us. We are also believe in helping our coaches improve their skills through our coach professional development program. In cooperation with BC Alpine and the Canadian Ski Coaches Federation programs, Tyee runs professional development sessions that cover, but are not limited to:
  • Communication & leadership
  • Adolescent growth & maturation
  • Technical tactical skill development
  • Psychological influences in coaching
  • Preparation for competition
  • Physical preparation
  • Session, development period & seasonal planning
Coaches that take part and excel in this program will be eligible for further Tyee contributions to their official CSCF certification upgrades.

For those with no prior experience or coaching certification, BC Alpine organizes CSCF Entry Level courses on Grouse in early December.  Following that, the new coaches must complete a coaching practicum their first season to be considered EL Certified.
